Have you seen the Signs of Courage? These signs were created last year by 6th grade students in the MUSD and are on display for the next month at Freedom Plaza. We're so proud of our amazing student artists and the longstanding partnership we've had with Groundwork Arts.
Groundwork Arts teaching artists visit our classrooms. In this project they taught students how to transform their thoughts and ideas into powerful visual statements. They explored messaging, graphic imagery, typeface, color and shape, creating 509 unique, hand-painted signs. Thirty-eight of these signs were chosen by peers, teachers and Groundwork Arts staff to be printed as large-scale art signs.

Water is essential for life, and understanding how it's managed is crucial for our future. That's why it's so important for students to learn about water agencies! Students at La Contenta Middle School learned all about water this week at the annual Water Education Day.
This special event was designed to deepen our students' understanding of water conservation, management and the critical importance of water in our daily lives and environment.
Our 8th graders participated in a variety of engaging and informative activities, including interactive workshops, hands-on experiments and more.
Experts from local water agencies led workshops on water purification processes, students conducted experiments to understand the principles of water filtration and some even got to try their hands at repairing water pipes.
The enthusiasm and curiosity our 8th graders demonstrated was truly inspiring. Water Education Day not only expanded their knowledge of water-related issues but also empowered them to become proactive stewards of our planet's most vital resource.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the local water agencies and their dedicated staff for organizing and facilitating this enriching experience: Joshua Basin Water District, Hi-Desert Water District, Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency and Mojave Water Agency.
